Rosa was winner of the Driftless Series Prize in 2017 from Brain Mill Press.  It is the story of a home health aide from Honduras.  She is being interviewed by bright little Mexican fifth grader who elicits some of her story for a school project.  The darker parts, of her abuse and flight to the US with her children she mulls in private.  What she learns from the little girl, her love for one of her patients, a wheelchair bound former civil rights lawyer, and her part in a strike of health care workers gives her a new sense of herself. 

Jonathan’s arrival in his home land starts in motion a wave of activity that sweeps the continent.
