C.K. ROY

C.K. was born and raised in Colorado, spending most of his years near the mountains, lakes, and rivers, learning to appreciate the simple pleasures in nature. After graduating from the University of Colorado in Boulder, he started his journey in Human Services, working with youth and adolescents at Big Brothers Big Sisters. He moved to the classroom to work in residential treatment of adolescents and spent years working with homeless teenagers and young adults in financial planning and addiction counseling.

C.K has first-hand experience with the trials and triumphs of raising kids in today's complex world. Witnessing the disparity between academic teachings and real-world necessities, he felt compelled to bridge this gap. Inspired by the desire to equip young people with essential life skills, he embarked on a mission to provide practical, relatable, and engaging guidance through his writing. By sharing his personal experiences and blending them with professional insights, he delivers content that resonates with both parents and teenagers alike, creating a sense of connection and understanding.

After living on the Big Island of Hawai’i for three years, C.K. now lives in California with his loving rescue mutt, Kona. He enjoys golf and disc golf, camping, fishing, hiking, whitewater rafting, outdoor concerts, sporting events and snowboarding all over the Western U.S.
