I create tales under the pen name Beck Lewis. Growing up, there wasn't much representation of people like me in books, on TV, or in the movies. So, starting in early 2024, I began to write my first book and launched the IT'S ALL GOOD UNTIL series in October of 2024.

I focus on Male-Male stories centered around discovery, acceptance, realizing it’s completely OK to be different, and wrapping everything in heavy doses of positive reinforcement.

Growing up, I didn't have this kind of representation. Back then, finding characters who reflected who I was—or who could help me make sense of my own world—felt like searching for a needle in a haystack. Representation isn't just a buzzword; it’s a lifeline. Seeing yourself reflected in books, movies, or on TV tells you one vital truth: you belong here, and you are not alone.

That’s the exact heartbeat behind every single story I write. If my words can help even one person feel seen, accepted, and proud of their uniqueness, then every late night staring at a blank screen is worth its weight in gold.

Thankfully, we are seeing much more representation today. I've recently found some excellent Boy Love stories (or BLs, as they are known), mostly from Asia (my favorite being Thai BLs), that depict guys discovering love for each other. It's been so enriching to see these dramas played out on screen. I can connect to those feelings, and I am so grateful a new generation can experience them too.

I want readers who may be questioning themselves, feeling different, or searching for where they belong to see characters who remind them they are not alone.

My first series, IT'S ALL GOOD UNTIL, is a cozy queer romance of two best friends navigating the world of sexual and gender identity.

Writing the Stories I Needed: A Journey of Identity, Romance, and Finding Your People

If you look back at my childhood and early years, you will find a quiet, persistent undercurrent of feeling entirely out of place. Growing up, I spent a lot of time questioning why I felt so different from everyone around me. In books, on television, and in the movies available at the time, the representation I desperately needed simply wasn't there. That absence leaves a specific kind of quiet isolation—the kind where you wonder if you are the only one navigating the maze of your own identity.

That experience is ultimately what brought me to the page.

When I began writing my debut in early 2024—launching the It's All Good Until series—I didn’t just want to tell entertaining fiction; I wanted to build a safe harbor. Characters like Tay, Third, and Toby were born from pieces of my younger self, capturing the awkwardness, the doubts, and the eventual triumph of discovering who you really are. I write the stories I wish I had growing up, hoping to offer today’s readers a mirror where they can see themselves clearly, without shame or hesitation.

Being an independent author is a true labor of love. Without a massive publishing house or a corporate marketing machine behind me, it’s just me, my ideas, and a cup of coffee building these worlds from scratch. But that independence grants a wonderful kind of freedom: the freedom to keep things authentic. My MM romances focus on everyday people, cozy settings, chosen family, and the profound comfort of a well-earned Happily Ever After. They affirm a simple, vital truth: you don't need to change who you are to fit someone else's mold. You are perfect just as you are.

Ultimately, whether my characters are navigating teenage self-discovery, adult transitions, or unexpected holiday magic, my overarching vision remains the same. If my words can help even one person feel a little more seen, a little more accepted, and a little more at home in their own skin, then every late night staring at a blank screen is worth it.

When you're working on a book and a new idea pops up, should you pursue it immediately (also known as 'UP syndrome') or finish your current project first? What do you think is the best course of action?
I generally like to finish a book before moving on to another one, but I’ve learned that inspiration doesn't always play by the rules! I always keep a pad and pen on my desk to jot down stray ideas when they hit.Sometimes an idea pops into my head in the middle of writing another story, and it's too compelling to ignore. When that happens, I might set my current project aside temporarily to at least outline the new story and get the concept out of my head. I really believe in letting creativity hit whenever and wherever it wants—you just have to capture it before it flies away.
