The Interview - Moe Lane
https://www.amazon.com/stores/author/B08B44QKVNHow did you become an author and get published? Share your experience.
I've always been a writer. I started writing books because of the pandemic. I was home, my kids were home, they were on their computers doing remote learning, and I was on call as tech support. I needed to do something to keep from going stir-crazy waiting for the wifi to go on the fritz.
Have you been able to incorporate your previous experience in [jobs/education] in your writing?
I have, in fact, been able to use my English literature degree by actually writing things for money for the last twenty years.
Have you ever experienced writer’s block? How did you deal with it?
Every so often. The trick is to write something. Anything. Don't worry about what it is, it's all just mental exercise anyway.
What are you reading right now?
The Peshawar Lancers (SM Stirling), Master & Commander (Patrick O'Brian), and I will start the Fellowship of the Ring in a few days.
Are any of the characters in your book based on people in your real life? If so, can you tell us more about that process and how it influenced your writing?
I sometimes offer my readers a chance to define some of my characters for me. Generally, they offer me a few suggestions, and I incorporate them. It's kind of fun, really.
