The Interview - Karina Kantas prolific author of exciting fiction
https://payhip.com/b/ilnhoWhen you're working on a book and a new idea pops up, should you pursue it immediately (also known as 'UP syndrome') or finish your current project first? What do you think is the best course of action?
You need to write down as much detail as you can about the characters and plot. Later, when you have completed the book you're working on. You have a skeleton for your next novel ready.
Share some advice for aspiring authors. What advice would you give to your younger self?1. What is your favorite line from your book?
Advice for aspiring authors: Write about what you know. At least for your first book. It saves a lot of time doing research.
Advice for my younger self: Write for yourself, not for market.
He’s gonna make me sign and swear the Omerta. If I don’t, he will kill me and if I do, I lose my freedom. How the hell did I get into this mess?
What is your take on book boyfriends? Do they actually exist? Or do they set the bar for “real life men” impossibly high?
Too high. No man is as perfect as authors write. The character needs to be flawed, to make the realistic.
What do you like to do when you’re not writing?
I run Author Assist. We offer mentoring, publishing and marketing services for authors.

What can we anticipate from you moving forward?
I'm working on my third collection of flash and short fiction.
I also have to complete In Times of Violence Adult Edition - The first draft is now completed.
Did you always want to be an author? If not, what did you want to be when you grew up?
It started off as wanting to be a florist, then a dancer. Later on in life, when I was living in Greece, I wanted to own a souvenir shop.
How long did it take you to write this book?
About four months. I was in the zone and the words just flowed.
What other hobbies do you have outside of writing?
I sing and I play live RPG on YouTube.
