Can you explain your writing process? Do you prefer to create an outline and plan beforehand, or do you prefer to write more spontaneously and organically?

My writing process is an intricate dance between structure and spontaneity. While I deeply admire the organized chaos of meticulous outlines, my stories often begin as whispers, fragments of scenes or characters that beckon me to explore further. I embrace this initial spontaneity, allowing the narrative to unfurl organically, guiding me through uncharted territories. However, as the story gains momentum, I find solace in crafting a loose roadmap—a flexible guide that helps steer the narrative while leaving room for unexpected detours and character revelations. This blend of structure and spontaneity grants me the freedom to delve into the depths of creativity while ensuring the story maintains a cohesive rhythm and purpose. It's this delicate balance that fuels my writing process, allowing the tale to evolve, surprise, and ultimately resonate with readers.

As an author, what critique has been the most challenging for you to receive? On the other hand, what compliment has been the most rewarding?

The most challenging critique I've received as an author is when someone pointed out inconsistencies in my character development. It pushed me to refine my approach to crafting more authentic and layered personas, making them relatable and compelling.Conversely, the most rewarding compliment was when a reader mentioned how deeply connected they felt to the emotional journey of my protagonist. It meant the world to me to know that my words resonated and stirred genuine emotions in someone else's heart. It reinforced my belief in the power of storytelling to forge connections between people.

Have you ever experienced writer’s block? How did you deal with it?

Writer's block is an inevitable companion in the journey of creation, a formidable adversary that visits even the most seasoned wordsmiths. When it strikes, I embrace it as a signal to pause, reflect, and recalibrate. I've learned to approach it with patience and kindness, understanding that it's often a whisper from my subconscious, urging me to explore new avenues or delve deeper into my characters' motives. To combat writer's block, I embark on a myriad of activities—stepping away from the screen to immerse myself in nature, engaging in stimulating conversations, or indulging in diverse forms of art. Sometimes, reading works from other authors or exploring unrelated topics sparks fresh ideas and rejuvenates my creativity.Additionally, I've come to accept that not every writing session needs to be a masterpiece. Giving myself permission to write imperfectly often breaks the block, freeing the flow of words once more. It's a journey of patience and resilience, knowing that amidst the blockages, there's always a current waiting to carry the story forward.

What do you like to do when you’re not writing?

When I'm not lost in the world of words, I'm often exploring new hiking trails, indulging in photography to capture the beauty around me, or getting lost in the mesmerizing melodies of music. I find solace in cooking elaborate meals, losing myself in a captivating book, and spending quality time with loved ones, cherishing the simple moments that inspire me in ways beyond the pages of a story.

What are you reading right now?

Currently, I'm savoring the rich tapestry of "The Midnight Library" by Matt Haig. Its exploration of alternate lives and profound reflections on choices resonate deeply, inviting readers to ponder the 'what ifs' that linger in our minds. Simultaneously, I'm captivated by the poetic prose and intricate world-building within N.K. Jemisin's "The Fifth Season," a masterclass in speculative fiction that continuously astounds and inspires. These books, each in their unique way, fuel my imagination and remind me of the boundless possibilities woven within the realm of storytelling.

How long did it take you to write this book?

The process of creating this book was a journey filled with creative ebbs and flows, taking approximately two years. However, if I were to measure its genesis, it began long before the actual writing—brewing in the recesses of my mind, collecting threads of inspiration over years until the story demanded to be told. The process involved meticulous research, countless drafts, and immersive revisions, each layer adding depth and resonance to the narrative until it finally bloomed into the tale readers now hold in their hands.

Do you listen to music while you write? If so, what kind of music do you like to listen to?

Absolutely, music is often a companion in my writing journey, like a silent collaborator setting the tone for my creative flow. The choice of music varies, aligning with the mood or essence of the story I'm weaving. Sometimes, instrumental compositions, whether classical melodies or cinematic scores, serve as a backdrop, evoking emotions and guiding the rhythm of my prose.

Other times, ambient or atmospheric tunes create a cocoon of inspiration, immersing me deeper into the world I'm crafting. Yet, there are moments when the silence itself becomes a melody, allowing the whispers of imagination to take center stage. Ultimately, the music—or lack thereof—acts as a catalyst, enhancing the writing experience and enriching the tapestry of storytelling.
