The Interview - Author Dell S. Henry
How did you become an author and get published? Share your experience.
I am a Newbie or, in other words, a New Author. This is my First and Only book.
My book was published by Book Baby that is located in Pennsauken, (Southern) New Jersey.
When you're working on a book and a new idea pops up, should you pursue it immediately (also known as 'UP syndrome') or finish your current project first? What do you think is the best course of action?
Slow Down Partner!! Keep it Simple. Stay with your current project, BUT, write
notes on your new idea and keep it in a file!
Which character do you enjoy writing the most as a writer and why? If choosing a favorite character is like choosing a favorite child, which character do you find requires the most attention and detail from you as a writer?
My book is an Autobiography and everyone in the book were real people
and a few of them are still alive.
What are some books or authors that you would recommend to our readers?
I am not trying to have an ego, BUT, since you asked me this question, DUH!! I would highly
recommend you and all of your friends to read My Book Titled F.R.U.I.T.S.
(Oh, Also, When you finish reading the entire book Kindly write your honest Review!)
Tell us what you enjoy most about writing [genre].
Being an Autobiography Genre, I included many Family History Chapters, to share with
readers, along with Sports, Music, Life Joys and Drama, merging both Life Failures and Life Success.
I include humor in chosen Chapters to keep the readers laughing out loud!
What have you found to be most challenging about writing in [genre]?
Since my book is an Autobiography, it took me 6 years of research, going back and forth
to many libraries, local ones and far away places, including Princeton University, Schomburg Research Center in Harlem, New York, etc.
Would you like readers to have any specific takeaway from your book?
I would like each and every reader to spread their individual book knowledge to other people after
reading the entire book and to provide open their Heartfelt Review!
What is your take on book boyfriends? Do they actually exist? Or do they set the bar for “real life men” impossibly high?
I have no idea what the heck a "book boyfriend" is. I am Old School and will leave it at that.
Have you ever experienced writer’s block? How did you deal with it?
No! I never experienced writer's block! Everyday my mind was flooded with
more information and I had to write it down quickly while it was fresh in my mind!
What do you like to do when you’re not writing?
I love taking walks, holding hands in local parks, with my lovely wife.
Meeting new Friends. After you read my book completely, you will understand why
I am Thankful Each and Every Day.
Did you have any say in the cover design?
I designed my Front Book Design.
What can we anticipate from you moving forward?
I am still promoting and marketing my book and I
have a few sources that NOW, have interest in converting my book
into a Movie or Documentary!! Let's see what happens!
Where do you like to write? In a coffee shop? In your home office? On the beach?
I did all of my writing in my chair with my laptop. I would get a flood of information
from my mind, and I would write for one hour, then I would stop writing. The next day
I would repeat it again. It took me 6 years of research to finally complete the manuscript!
Are any of the characters in your book based on people in your real life? If so, can you tell us more about that process and how it influenced your writing?
Every One On My Book's Front Cover is related to my Family or had Ties or Associations with my
Relatives or Ancestors. My book is Titled F.R.U.I.T.S. (Family Research Uncovers Important Time Secrets)
Do you have any personal connection to the story or characters?
DUHHHHH! Read the Sub Title Again.!!!
