The Interview - Harish Chidambaram
https://arjunaahari1.wixsite.com/mysite-1How did you become an author and get published? Share your experience.
It was the First Wave of Pandemic. I finished my daily practice of Yogic excersises and meditation as per Master Yogananda's instructions. Then I opened my laptop to work. I was brushing my scripts on my laptops, some of my pitch presentations and pitch deck submissions. I wondered, The Submission of pitch has to undergo various process for review then it has to get approved, call for discussions, prepare first draft, submit the budget, before which it will go through enumerable changes that would shake its originality. Then get commissioned for budget and then call for the team and go on the floor for a shoot. What will I do untill that? Am afraid I will lose my creative sensibilities. Then I had an imaginary vision of Master Yogananda at lake shrine church near the tree at the lake coast, telling me in his bengali accent: Why don't you publish your scripts as a book? I spoke to my parents about it because publishing a book costs a fortune. A positive energy spoke through my mom that you haven't started writing yet? start writing, then we will think about it. When I started writing, magical insights to publishing began to appear and everything began to manifest on its own. Now I've published over 19 Books.
When you're working on a book and a new idea pops up, should you pursue it immediately (also known as 'UP syndrome') or finish your current project first? What do you think is the best course of action?
Firstly why do you have to identify something with a technical term and a scientific term also a medical term? Do you have a medical term for walking and talking? No. or maybe who knows. All I say is don't think and waste your precious time on what is the best course of action and generalize it. Creativity is an individual aspect it's not a general aspect like that of a desk clerk and peons. It has it's own individuality, do not spoil those individuality with a medical term. You do not have a medical term for 9-5 job do you? Each and every single Individual is different. Treat them as they are and allow them to explore what action to take for themselves. I sometimes pursue it blending with the characters of my current book, sometimes I save it for the sequel sometimes I keep it for my other books. It depends on the idea that pops up and the relationship it has got with the book I am writing. Sometimes it maynot be anyway relavent to my book but I will relate it by building around.
Which character do you enjoy writing the most as a writer and why? If choosing a favorite character is like choosing a favorite child, which character do you find requires the most attention and detail from you as a writer?
It's like which body organ would you like to keep for yourself. If all the characters around the protagonist and antagonist of a book or a movie or series is removed there will be no base. Just like a Universal Energy gives such an enormous attention in creating a grasshopper and the same kind of attention given to the humans, Every character requires the most attention and detail from a writer, that's why my Book universe is called Grounded Characters Universe.
Can you explain your writing process? Do you prefer to create an outline and plan beforehand, or do you prefer to write more spontaneously and organically?
Spontaneously and Organically.

Tell us what you enjoy most about writing [genre].
Making Supernaturalism Highly believable and blending the supernatural elements to a highly logical plot in a practical reality world driven by material and mind driven people. Presenting you a narration of your practical reality with a shift of perspectives that could re-define your lives towards a betterment is something I really enjoy.
What have you found to be most challenging about writing in [genre]?
Highly Logical Scientific explanations behind Spiritual actions. My Guru Paramahamsa Yogananda who is the father of Yoga in the western world began to explain divinity as a science which came in handy for me to write a subtle logical ground breaking origins. He explained sanskrit text in highly scientific terms which I could relate to and understand this is exactly what I have been thinking so far.
Have you been able to incorporate your previous experience in [jobs/education] in your writing?
The Norms of stupidity and acts based on in-sensibilities followed by few organizations and some sick twisted people Yes. I've added layers of illusion to it so that you do not identify them. But someone like me can relate to it.
Do you identify with your main character or did you create a character that is your opposite?
I Identify the spiritual training aspect of every main character, because I was trained by my Master and I applied it's methodology and his way of easing in to the solutions and coming to terms with dealing the situations. The Intuitive abilities developed by the characters. Not the character as a whole and as it is carbon copied but many of it's qualities. It wasn't easy to develop such caliber, I suffered a lot, I still do now and then but these insights to wisdom helps me come to terms with it. It was like the pain of a rock before it's chiseled into a beautiful statue.
Describe the [book/series] in 10 words or less for people who are just learning about it.
Spiritual Science with logic and reasoning in terms with practical reality.
Would you like readers to have any specific takeaway from your book?
Specifically Shed your ego. Because it looks like ego is making your life better but in return it's only making it worse. You cannot see it until you shed it.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Yes I make sure that I make spelling mistakes because, None of us are perfect. No matter how hard you try there will be flaws. So I wanted to convey to people that they have to accept themselves with all their flaws as they are un-apologetically themselves. Which is why I see to it that some of my silly spelling mistakes are even visible to the naked eyes that looks exactly like a printing mistake.
As an author, what critique has been the most challenging for you to receive? On the other hand, what compliment has been the most rewarding?
I wouldn't say Critique because a challenging critique always means well. I found reviews that had difficulty in adapting themselves to my pattern of writing. I am very visual and extremely cinematic with stunning dramatic stunt sequences and visually treating visual effects descriptions and make it look read and sound exactly like a Hollywood movie and God I love blowing up my trumpet here. Because these reviews are by people who are used to the current style of book writing. Like Nobel Prize and Booker Prize Books and Re-interpretations of mythology sort of books. What was a compliment was I received review of publisher of various books highly regarding my script and style of writing. And the same reviewer who learnt and adapted to my style of writing appreciating my second book. Rewarding was my parents reading my books.
Share some advice for aspiring authors. What advice would you give to your younger self?1. What is your favorite line from your book?
Advise is Do not take life too seriously.
Favorite Line is from the Shauryawaan Book Series:
Life will only teach you one thing again and again shed your ego.
One More Ninja Book Series:
People will tell you never to give up, Life will tell you only to give up.
To date, what is your favorite (or most difficult) chapter you have ever written?
My Next One.
What is your take on book boyfriends? Do they actually exist? Or do they set the bar for “real life men” impossibly high?
I am a Boy and I have read some books to graduate high school and college, also am a friend to many people. So Yup! Book Boyfriends exists. But Yes it does sets the bar for real life men impossibly high because
(A) I hated going to school and reading books, except Non-detail and I still do.
(B) Every Individual is different and you cannot expect anything from anybody no matter what. Expectations will only lead you to misery.
Have you ever experienced writer’s block? How did you deal with it?
I did have a pre-writters block experience. This was because I was running for shoot running for edit and submissions I didn't concentrate on writting for a year. And all the sudden I had all the time in the world to write and I didn't know how to go about. When I found that A script I penned earlier was lost, I decided to pen down the script once again, that's the moment I realized, I lost it. Then I realized in my daily meditation that, If I need to avoid writer's block I have to keep writing on a regular basis. So I sat for those things which inspired me to write and spent 2 days weekend getting inspired by all those scripts of Gene Roddenberry Hannah Barbera that I was fascinated about and then decided to pen down, I got the flow back. From that moment I decided to write something every week even If I have to keep it for myself.
What do you like to do when you’re not writing?
I make animated movies, Series, Video Presentation vlogs.
Was there anything you had to research for the book?
Something I was already into But I did an extensive references of Itihasa, which is Valmiki Ramayana and Vyasa Mahabharata because they talk about living with wisdom and attunement. Since I bring the aspect of Wisdom and spiritual living I keep referring them for every book. I bring a lot of metaphorical representation of characters like Lust, Anger, Greed, Attachment, Discrimination, Jealousy as the Supervillains and Supervillainess. So I had to dig into the story of Puranas and then meditate upon the story to find the metaphorical aspects to it and dialectical explanations of it and go to the core of essence.
Did you have any say in the cover design?
I design my own cover, I illustrate my own script, because only it is only me who can understand what I want better. As I keep designing my cover book by book I learnt to make it better and learnt to present the cover better with better illustration techniques.
What are you reading right now?
I am reading my own book for the first time. My Recent Release Tres Bien. Am Realizing that I underestimated myself so far.
What can we anticipate from you moving forward?
The Book Universe that I've Created ie., GC. GC Universe's own version of Justice League Version, plus more and more spiritual fiction with blend of science fictions and fantasy that tells you to lead a way of life that is spiritually attuned and also that opens the doors of your brain that has never been opened before. Learning to accept the fact that being a human is a possibility not a limitation. If not now you will for sure come to terms with it if you keep reading my versions of fiction because somewhere you will relate yourself, knowingly or unknowingly.
Do you have any movie or tv adaptations in the works?
Inspirations not adaptations.
Did you always want to be an author? If not, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a Film-Maker like Manoj Night Shyamalan. and an Animation Director like William Hannah and Joseph Barbera. I then became a Screenwriter for Animated Series, Filmed some ads, so I guess you can say I'm a film-maker and I am an Animation Director of a Web Series Mystery Book and a Web short film T.I.M.E That is streaming in Cineverse. I am for sure an Animation Director now.
How long did it take you to write this book?
10 Days. Usually I take 3 Days but Am Happy it took 10 days. The more the Merrier.
Where do you like to write? In a coffee shop? In your home office? On the beach?
Anywhere
Do you listen to music while you write? If so, what kind of music do you like to listen to?
No.
What other hobbies do you have outside of writing?
I keep drawing concept arts, inventing characters, I outsource storyboards for video productions, You can't say that as a hobby because I made a career out of a hobby so that I can live happy. I jump from stairs dive from one end to the other end of a bar like I did when I was a kid, I play with 0-6 babies anywhere possible. so that I maintain my stunt skills and stay positive all the time. Being a Bro figure to them I am so comfortable playing endless. I keep meditate a lot when I have nothing to do and everything to do. I don't mind sitting hours in stillness. If my work disturbs the peacefulness I achieve in meditation I don't hesitate to turn it down. because peace is the primary aspect of life. End of the day you have to be Happy that's the primary goal.
Are any of the characters in your book based on people in your real life? If so, can you tell us more about that process and how it influenced your writing?
The Monks in my books are based on My Guru Paramahamsa Yogananda. His wisdom and attunement. Because All my Books are about attunement with positive energy that helps you ease in and ease out in your life. So I make sure all the characters of Monk's do have that insights to Master Yogananda. Otherwise there IS A Sasquatch which is based on the real life characteristics of Big foots debunking the false notion about them. There are few cameos of characters like street magicians, Illusionists which are framed according to the description in the lifestyle tv show where an illusionist performs a great trick.
Do you have any personal connection to the story or characters?
Of course its my creation right. A script will never click without a personal connection. If you want to be genuine to the script and stay true to its originality you must sync with it, failing which many Indian movies flop.
